Washita Battlefield National Historic Site protects and interprets the site of the Southern Cheyenne village of Chief Black Kettle where the Battle of Washita occurred. The site is located about 150 miles west of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, near Cheyenne, Oklahoma.
